The Founders
Hi! We're Emily and AJ, husband and wife, parents, and co-founders of Astraea Health Advocacy, LLC.
With two decades of clinical experience in Pain Management, Urgent Care, Urology, and Trauma Surgery, Emily Heliotis-Olsen is a board certified and licensed Physician Assistant practicing in Austin, Texas. A soon-to-be board certified Health Advocate, Emily is our Chief Health Advocate at Astraea. She started her journey into advocacy when our fathers became simultaneous cardiac patients. With myriad doctors, specialists, appointments, medications, diets, complications, procedures, and personalities to navigate, Emily routinely intervened to make our fathers' care more efficient and more effective while lowering costs and stress for our respective families. Now, she's leveraging these skills to help our clients navigate their parents' healthcare.
Our Director of Operations, AJ Olsen, brings operational experience from multiple industries, including insurance, retail, higher education, non-profit, government, and engineering. Since losing his father to a decades-long battle with heart disease, AJ has turned his focus to helping others manage their parents' healthcare. Holding two Masters degrees, AJ manages our day-to-day operations at Astraea, freeing Emily to handle our most important work: your parent's care. Together, our skills comprise the dynamic team that is Astraea Health Advocacy.
